VioTech Violin Case:The VioTech case is a bespoke violin case, hand-made in the English traditional style, which is: handmade, to special order only, 'bespoke' in other words, constructed from a wooden shell, with domed lid for strength, covered in a heavy duty canvas cover, usually with a music pocket too, screwed on for easy repair and exchange, should it become necessary. Fitted with solid heavy duty brass hinges, and an English leather handle of the highest quality. Closed by a good brass latch with a key lock. No provision in the standard model for shoulder strap.
Inside, a velvet lining, usually burgundy, or blue, with accessory compartment, 4 bow holders, leather tie-down, and matching blanket.
Outside, a heavy duty canvas cover, tailor-made fitted specifically to each case, high quality zippers, and can have a music pocket too. The cover is padded top and bottom usually, while this makes the case deeper, the added impact security provided is worth it.
Options: The basic case is as described above, but can have blue lining, ( no extra cost), D rings, on the back and front, additional padding, with a music pocket, string tube, and hand made heavy-duty leather shoulder strap. These options do cost a little more, but the inner case is structurally the same. The usual price for all these options is an extra £125.
The VioTech case was not available to the 'trade', ie ' bespoke, and made to order only for specific clients, so there is very little if anything published online bot these cases. VioTech are the makers, exclusively sold by Viotech., which an affiliate company of SoundAntiques.
Price: Model A, as described above, is £950, no VAT, excluding carriage costs. The Model B, which the options added as above, is £1075, no VAT, plus carriage.
